so as we did last month, we got together at van & roger's (yes, it's girls night plus r's at home!) but this time we chose earl's for our take out meal. i had the spicy seafood penne w/a slice of garlic toast. delish as always! we spent many many hours just catching up, most of our talk centred around pris' wedding and van's daughter, natasha. natasha was really taken with pris last night.....she kept on smiling at her :) natasha was chilling on auntie d's lap, and apparently we must've stopped paying attention to her, and she just let out a huge wail! it was the funniest (and loudest) thing i've ever heard. i don't recall if there were any actual tears, but dad made everything better. well done! i think next month we might be baby-less, as the get together is at my home. i think it's take-out sushi :)
i think we are truly grown-ups now. we get together at ppl's homes (my goodness, we actually own property!?!?) and talk about cooking, chores, weddings, budgets and babies. what happened to our younger days, where all we cared about was getting to madison's before 9:30 for woozy saturday's? or thursday nights at big bam boo which were followed by a venti starbucks coffee on friday morning at work/school? (sidebar.....funny that both of those clubs have changed their names twice since we hung out there.) i have to say that none of us really looks like we're approaching 30. it's that special asian gene :) but i have to admit that if i know i'm going to have a late night, i try to take a nap (or at least rest) in the afternoon so i don't pass out early!
also, i took my car in for an oil change and filter thingamajiggy. i really like taking my car to vancouver honda......the ppl there are great, they're efficient and my car's always ready for me when they say it will be, and they wash and vacuum it for me! so it's a little pricey to get all my fixings at the dealership, but there's something to be said for good customer service. and cute guys :) sshhhhh, don't tell my husband - he might not let me go back unescorted :( maybe next time i'll just sit and wait for my car to be finished.....no, no, no, what am i saying?! i'm married. love you, hon!
so anywho, off to meet sandra. today is a first for us......her first time to daiso - a truly great asian store (everything is $2), and my first time making a (chocolate) fondue! it's a jam-packed day, i can't believe how fast time is flying by today.
there's been more to report this a.m., but i'll start another post about that later :)
