who needs cash? apparently i do!

so i had planned on bringing leftovers for lunch today, but i decided after eating dinner last night that it was one of those dishes i'd probably never cook again, and i didn't like the taste after all.

i had to run an errand at lunchtime today so i figured i might as well just buy something while i was out and about. i headed over to royal centre for some chicken curry from rice & spice. while i was standing in the growing line-up, i was trying to look at the price list from where i was in the line-up.....i saw the first digit was a 6, and i looked in my wallet, only to discover i had $7.04. i'm no math genius, and i can't figure out what 7% of $6something was, so i removed myself from the line-up. darn these places that are cash only! it really sucks sometimes!

so where was i going to get a meal for under $7 including tax? well, i headed over to the chinese place (i don't even know the name of it), and settled for singapore-style vermicelli and some chicken wings. that brought me to $5.65. so now i'm stuck with only $1.39 remaining in my wallet. there are other places in royal centre that take interac, but i just wasn't in the mood for anything else.

i mean, i could've gone to the bank machine, but i don't bank w/rbc, so i would get dinged $1.50 service charge. i've gotten so used to cash-less shopping, that it seems strange to carry money. sometimes when i do need cash and chris is around, he'll bail me out :-) but when i'm solo, i get jacked. i have to admit though it is sometimes embarrassing when i need to buy a stamp or a pack of gum, and i whip out my bank card or charge it to my credit card. actually, last time i was at dragonball, i realized i had a lot of coins and no bills, so i paid for my bubble tea with dimes & nickels :(

seriously though, most places have made it so convenient to be cash-free with interac, credit cards, store gift cards, store credit cards, etc. and now to top it all off, some parking lots let you pay by phone! how convenient is that? well, i guess if you don't have a cell phone, you're screwed :P

oh well, i guess i better go to the bank later, i'm gonna be buying lunch again tomorrow :P
