i must be blonde

perhaps i had too much sugar yesterday. perhaps i really am a blonde underneath my now-faded brown streaks. i don't know what happened to me yesterday, but it was totally messed up.

incident #1.....i was at work, and i needed to find out some details about someone's daughter. i needed 3 questions answered.....1) what is her full name? 2) what is her birthdate? 3) what is her gender? do you see where i'm going yet? or are you blonde like me? so what did i do? well, of course, i proceeded to ask all 3 questions about her DAUGHTER! and of course as i asked question #3, i realized what i was asking. too late. everyone around me heard and later laughed at me. yes, i was laughing too :P

incident #2.....renee and i finally skytrained together, and at the station before the train was even coming, renee said "oh i don't want this train." me: "ok, why?" renee: "it's not my train." me: "hunh? how do you know, it's not even here?!" renee: "they sound different!" me: "really?" renee: "NO, it's says on the board which train is coming!" me: "......" so for 3 weeks i've taken this train, read all the escalator/elevator announcements, yet i NEVER noticed that it tells you which train is coming (either expo line or millenium line). good grief! there was another passenger nearby who heard my stupidity and admitted that he had taken the train like 8 times, and on the 9th, ended up on the wrong line, but never noticed until the end of the line because he was absorbed in his mp3 player.

incident #3.....ok, this isn't really a blonde moment, but it's so typical of me. let me start by saying sports and i do not get along very well. i used to play t-ball in grade 1, and one time i was in outfield (?), and a girl hit the ball, and it hit me in the head. my dad keeps telling me it's my own fault, i should've been paying attention. my mom used to put me in tennis camp w/my older cousin. well, i was walking along the edge of the court when a girl went to do a wicked backhand, and clobbered me in the nose. luckily my aunt was there to tend to my bleeding nose. then in grade 9 gym, we were playing basketball, and i don't know where i was looking, but this girl threw the ball at me, and i totally missed it, and the ball hit me in the face.....my glasses broke, and my nose bled for an hour. and then on my 21st or 22nd birthday, chris and i went to whistler, and as we were heading down the mountain for the day, i fell down on the trail and hit my head on the ice. yes, ice. i blacked out for about 3-5 seconds, and of course i had a concussion (the effects lasted for a couple days). now i'm an advocate for helmut-wearing!

so anyways, incident #3 wasn't an injury or anything. i was meeting up w/the volleyball crew, and i'm always on the lookout for balls (as per all my reasons above), so a couple times it came my way. the first time i just smacked it back. the second time, i kicked it back. the third time, i'm not sure what i was thinking. i tried to smack it hard and back to the court, but for some reason it didn't go back to the court, so after i smacked it, the ball just came straight up again and grazed my forehead. of course there was a witness.....sandra was laughing at me from the sidelines. i think she laughed harder when i told her that yes, it got my forehead. and my wonderful hubby just rolled his eyes at me.

so needless to say, i don't like sports and they don't like me.

sorry...but i'm laughing even now as i remember. the expression on your face was just so funny.

i do sympathize though. i've been packed in a face about 5 times in vball and it's not fun.

i also had a blonde moment yesterday. i was trying to plug in the rice cooker and i tipped it towards me while trying to get at the socket...needless to say i spilled lots of rice and water everywhere.

I have heard that blondes have more fun than any other colours. I have always had a thing for blondes.
